I walked the 10mile route twice as I was hoping to sign up for the 20mile however there was not enough interest this year. I ended up being the only person to start at 8am and was greated with a very warm welcome and an explanation of the route before I set off. The route was very well sign posted with green arrows and encouraging signs showing when you had reached a certain mile.
The walk was scenic and a good challenge as part was road walking and some was off road. I now have a better idea of the walks I can attempt around Central Bristol, without having to cross too many roads, which is great! I hadn't realised I could take this route from Central Bristol to Ashton Court before.
I had lots of encouragement from the Good Miles team when I saw them halfway through and finished my 20miles with the registration team clapping and cheering for me as they offered me a celebratory glass of bubbly!
Overall, a great day and a big boost in confidence in my long distance walking abilities!

It was my first 5 mile walk and I didn’t really know what to expect. The route was laid out well and really easy to follow. I walked round some scenic, interesting areas that I’d not seen before and would recommend it. I will definitely be doing another WalkBristol.

Finding more ways to encourage people to participate would be something I would work on or improve if I was the organizer.

I enjoyed following the green direction arrows, and only missed one!!
